Pagero - Part of Thomson Reuters expansion continues at high speed, and we are now looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Java for one of our teams in Sri Lanka. Are you self-driven, and innovative and want to work with a great platform, and the latest technologies?

What you will be doing

In this role, you will design and develop new services and infrastructure and maintain our existing flagship cloud service product Pagero Online, which handles millions of transactions annually.

You are curious and love to learn about new trends and techniques and how they can help us increase the value of our products to our customers.

About the Role

In this opportunity as an Associate Integration Consultant

, you will:

Build strong relationships with the product management/development team

Plan and estimate technical design, development, deployment, and delivery tasks

Develop functionality based on directions and requirement specifications

Demonstrate completed functionality through sprint reviews as per the Definition of Done (DoD)

Ensure testable code is produced and practice test-driven development

Take overall responsibility and ownership of the individual deliverables

Be a self-motivated leader who is results-driven and a technology enthusiast

About you

You’re a fit for the role of Associate Integration Consultant

if your background includes:

A degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent technical/professional qualification

Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing and developing enterprise-level business applications using Java-related technologies

Proficiency in JVM-based languages, including Java, scala

Willingness to work with the functional programming language Scala

Possess extensive knowledge of back-end systems and services development

Good understanding of microservices and Docker

Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Very good knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns

Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

Very good understanding of software engineering best practices

Proficient experience in CICD, code reviews, design reviews, code coverage, unit testing, and test automation

Good verbal and written communication skills in English

Good understanding of agile software development practices

High attention to detail, self-organized and a methodical approach to work
