Job Description
BME Fire Trucks is seeking a skilled fire apparatus paint technician with experience to join our 2nd shift paint team. We are a locally owned Fire Truck manufacturer in Boise, Idaho. BME manufactures wildland fire apparatus used in the US and Canada for wildland fire suppression. Be a part of something that makes a difference in saving lives, homes, and our amazing recreational areas. As a Fire Apparatus Paint Technician, you will be responsible for:
Mixing and applying body filler
Sanding with both longboards and mud-hog sanders
Finish sanding primer and caulking seems
Grinding
Acid washing
Prepping for paint process
Performing Automotive quality paint application
Performing cut & buff work as necessary.Requirements:
Qualifications
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
Understanding of bodywork principles
Experience with body filler
Experience with block sand
Experience with air tools
Experience in automotive customization or collision repair work
Experience with hand and power tools
Great attitude and high expectations for the quality of your work.
Knowledge of body shop materials
Physically fit – ability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, kneel and climb ladders.
BONUS POINTS FOR:
Associates Degree in Auto Body repair or related area
Four years or more years of experience with automotive painting
Experience with color sanding and buffing
Automotive customization or collision repair work
Tools and a roll around tool box
