Were looking for a Network Security Engineer to play a key role in strengthening and securing our network infrastructure. What Youll Do

Set up, maintain, and optimize network systemsboth hardware and softwareto support seamless connectivity and protect critical data.

Monitor network traffic and performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.

Apply and regularly update security protocols to keep our network in step with evolving threats and best practices.

Design, implement, and manage telecommunications systems tailored to operational needs.

Troubleshoot network disruptions and reduce the risk of recurrence through proactive strategies.

Develop and enforce internal policies and procedures that align with our security goals and IT standards.

Guide users on safe network practices and help boost cybersecurity awareness across the team.

Keep leadership informed with status reports on network performance, incidents, and security initiatives.

Analyze Department of Defense (DoD) and NIST security standards to assess their relevance and impact on our environment.

Support cybersecurity initiatives by applying relevant security controls and recommending innovative defense strategies.

Collaborate closely with various teams (including Cyber, IT Support, and Enterprise Services) to resolve issues and ensure information flows seamlessly across the organization.

Contribute to working groups and assist in distributing essential updates and technical insights.

Additional Areas You May Support

Install, replace, and maintain Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) devices.

What You Bring

Required Skills & Experience:

US Citizenship or Permanent Residence required

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification

Deep knowledge and experience with IPv6planning, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting

Practical understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and its enterprise-level applications

Familiarity with DoD8140 cybersecurity certification requirements

Strong grasp of advanced networking concepts reflected in CCIE Security and Cisco Certified Design Expert (CCDE) material (certification not required)

Solid foundation in network security best practices and technologies

Analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail

Strong communication skills for effective training and reporting

Comfortable working in a collaborative, team-focused environment

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE) showcasing expertise in complex network security systems

Background working with frameworks like NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, and DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF)

Experience using tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, or Nagios for performance monitoring and diagnostics

Hands-on configuration and management of firewalls and IDS/IPS systems

Knowledge of cloud security across platforms such as AWS or Azure

Ability to automate tasks using scripting languages like Python or PowerShell

A strategic thinker who can untangle complex network issues and translate them into practical solutions
