Department: Financial Aid, Institutional Relations
FLSA Status: Salary Exempt
JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for operationalizing and directing all short, intermediate, and long range planning for the financial aid program. Coordinates with other departments regarding the implementation of financial aid regulations, policies, and procedures related to individual departments and the campus as a whole.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Staff Leadership
Manage and train all financial aid staff members in day-to-day responsibilities and professional competence
Own all processes and projects conducted within financial aid
Lead the team to execute the financial aid communication plan for aid recipients
Lead the financial aid team culture in becoming humble, hungry, happy, and smart
Aid Program Oversight
Oversee the administration of all Title IV awarding and disbursements, including enrollment reporting, professional judgments, and return of Title IV funds
Oversee the institution’s Federal Work Study program in tandem with Human Resources leadership
Ensure that grant and loan funds are reconciled between COD and the institution’s SIS database
Lead the scholarship committee and give oversight to the administration of internal and external scholarship awards
Oversee the administration of all Military and Veteran Benefits
Compliance and Reporting
Maintain federal financial aid compliance, including leadership over all audit responsibilities
Maintain Military and Veterans Affairs compliance
Serve on institutional committees as needed to ensure institutional compliance and to implement industry standards
Complete all internal and external reporting requirements regarding financial aid
Divisional Support
Serve on the Institutional Relations leadership team
Strive to challenge the status quo, project the brand of MBTS, and nurture the enrollment funnel of the institution
Actively support all initiatives of the Enrollment Management team and Institutional Relations division
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Include, but not limited to:
Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
Bachelor’s degree required
5 years’ experience in higher education financial aid, with supervisory experience strongly preferred
Willingness to become a NASFAA Certified Financial Aid Administrator
Leadership, problem-solving, organizational management, and public speaking skills required.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills to solve problems, analyze trends and provide recommendations Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and all related products
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude with a desire and willingness to learn
Able to multi-task, analyze workload, and prioritize as necessary for the benefit of the department
Strong attention to detail
Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record

WORKING CONDITIONS
Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
Conditions are those of a typical office environment
Oral communication with students and colleagues may be required
Some travel may be required to be present and address students, their parents, and fellow professionals at appropriate college and regional functions
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Frequently required to sit or stand for periods of time at desk or computer station
Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
