Registered Behavior Technician

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Behavior Technician to support students with diverse behavioral needs, implement individualized intervention plans, and collaborate with educators and families to foster a positive learning environment that promotes academic and social success.
Essential Functions:
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate student needs and provide interventions to redirect behavior.
Document appropriate data as instructed by the School Wellness Team.
Implement behavioral programs and interventions designed to facilitate positive changes.
Assess crises and defuse them using conflict resolution and crisis management techniques.
Write clear and detailed observations of student behavior.
Reinforce appropriate behaviors while redirecting negative behaviors.
Provide value clarification including rules, expectations, and consequences.
Implement logical consequences for inappropriate behavior.
With proper training, physically restrain students if necessary for safety.
Communication and Consultation
Collaborate with the School Wellness team, School Leaders, and teachers to develop effective intervention programs for changing unacceptable student behavior.
Provide information to parents, guardians, or other care providers regarding student actions.
Ensure consistency of behavioral standards by coordinating with appropriate student contacts.
Consult with teachers, operations team, and school leaders to gather information on prior behavior problems and provide necessary insights on behavioral concerns.
Programs and Team Support
Assist the school team by monitoring student behavior changes, supporting academics, and supervising various activities during the instructional day to maintain a controlled and safe environment for students and staff.
Attend IEP (Individualized Education Plan) and student progress meetings as requested.
Implement the school’s emergency procedures as needed.
Participate in training regarding safety, security, physical restraints, and behavior management procedures as required.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree is required; Bachelor's degree preferred
Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal)
Registered Behavior Technician certificate (RBT)
