Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Data Engineer – Data Modeling opening for our client in Dallas, TX.

Location: Dallas, TX

Duration: 12 Months

Duties:

Design, develop, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using PySpark and Python.

Implement data quality checks and validation using tools such as Great Expectations.

Utilize Airflow for orchestration of data workflows and automation of data pipelines.

Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and cross-functional business teams to understand data needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.

Support data modeling activities, including the design and maintenance of efficient data models to support reporting and analytics use cases.

Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

Ensure performance tuning and optimization of data processing pipelines.

Skills:

Strong programming experience in Python, with practical expertise using libraries such as pandas, sqlalchemy, and pySpark.

Solid working knowledge of SQL, including performance optimization techniques.

Experience with building and maintaining ETL pipelines.

Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow.

Understanding of data modeling principles and best practices.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in data engineering or related roles.

Demonstrated success in developing and managing data pipelines and data infrastructure in a production environment.

Experience working in cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision-making.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
