Position Summary

As a part of the exciting expansion of the research within the Pulmonary Division of the Indiana School of Medicine, a new postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Olga Rafikova to study the molecular basis of pulmonary hypertension (PH). In particular, Dr. Rafikova’s lab research focuses on the role of mitochondrial dysfunction, angiogenesis, cardiac dysfunction, mechanisms of immune regulation, and sex differences in PH. The successful candidate will be actively involved in ongoing multi-project settings in a highly productive research environment. Research opportunities include investigating the PH pathology at molecular, cellular, preclinical, and translational levels. A spectrum of scientific methods includes state-of-the-art multi-omics approaches, 3D ex-vivo cell culturing models, and the implementation of unique genetically modified animal models. The Division provides a highly collaborative environment and the possibility to grow. An NIH -funded T32 Training Program is in place.
