Sr Civil Project Engineer, Land Development-Fulltime

Job Description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) has an immediate opening for a skilled and motivated Civil Project Engineer to support one of our premier consulting clients in Orange County, CA.

We are seeking a Civil Project Engineer with expertise in site design to join their dynamic land development team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and managing various aspects of land development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, proficiency in relevant design software, and the ability to contribute to project success through innovative and effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

Site Planning and Design: Apply civil engineering principles to develop comprehensive site plans for various projects. Conduct site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, and other site development activities.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and codes. Facilitate the permitting process and coordinate with regulatory agencies as needed.

Technical Proficiency:

Utilize design software (such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD) to create detailed plans and drawings.

Perform calculations related to grading, stormwater management, and utility systems.

Client Interaction:

Work closely with clients to understand project requirements and objectives.

Provide regular updates on project progress and address client concerns or inquiries.

Project Management:

Develop project schedules, budget estimates, and identify critical milestones.

Coordinate with project teams and other stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project delivery.

Quality Assurance:

Conduct thorough reviews of design plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.

Implement quality control measures throughout the design process.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in civil engineering, with a focus on site design projects.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant design software.

Strong understanding of grading, drainage, utility design, and site layout principles.

Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and regulatory agencies.

Problem Solving:

Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop innovative solutions.

Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Professional Certification: Professional Engineer (PE) license
