Job Description
Summary:
A Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring all employees have reliable access to company technology and resources. This on-site role supports both Mac and Windows environments and works directly with users across departments to address and prevent issues, manage user accounts, and improve operational efficiency. This position also plays a critical role in maintaining IT compliance, supporting PCI-DSS certification efforts, and coordinating with our Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure secure and consistent access to systems and cloud-hosted data.
Responsibilities:
· Provide hands-on, in-person support for employee technical issues (hardware, software, and connectivity).
· Proactively monitor office technology usage and engage with staff to identify unreported problems.
· Manage and maintain access control and facility-related platforms:
– Brivo (access control)
– Alarm.com (security monitoring)
– Eagle Eye (video surveillance)
· Administer Office 365 accounts, including setup, password resets, and license management.
· Coordinate with IT Goat (MSP) to resolve escalated issues and maintain cloud file access.
· Configure and troubleshoot printers, network connectivity, and workstation issues.
· Support onboarding/offboarding processes including provisioning of equipment and accounts.
· Order, inventory, and track computer hardware and peripherals.
· Participate in weekly PCI-DSS audit preparation meetings and take ownership of user-related compliance tasks.
· Facilitate employee security training and certification tracking.
· Serve as a communication bridge between technology and staff to ensure satisfaction and alignment.
Recommend and implement improvements to desktop support processes and employee technology experiences.
Requirements:
• Proven experience in a desktop support or IT help desk role.
• Proficient in Windows and macOS environments.
• Familiarity with Office 365 administration and cloud-based systems.
• Comfortable with basic network troubleshooting and printer configuration.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to proactively engage with staff.
• Organizational skills to manage tasks, inventory, and compliance-related tracking.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to participate in PCI-DSS compliance and pursue PCIP certification (training covered by company).
• High attention to detail and security awareness.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.Company Description
