Loader Operator

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of this job is to safely operate a frontend loader at aggregate operations in customer loadout and/or pit production.

EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

Watch for oversize material or contamination in finished product piles.

Load customer trucks with the correct material in the correct quantities.

If in the pit, load raw material from the pit into the hopper at the desired production rate.

Perform routine maintenance including machine cleanliness, daily service inspection, fueling, greasing, etc. Additional maintenance activities as required

Help maintain a hazard free work environment by assisting in housekeeping and maintenance duties

Includes cleanliness and upkeep of yard area

Follow all safety policies, including MSHA and company regulations.

Report safety hazards and create safety first culture

Participate in safety meetings

Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to work 12 hour shifts and weekends if needed.

Self motivated and able to work effectively in small teams

Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Related industry experience a plus

Experience operating heavy equipment in a plant environment preferred

High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

$24.50/hr and up

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions.

Employee constantly sits, utilizes manual dexterity, uses fine motor skills, gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near/far vision and requires active hearing/listening.

Employee occasionally stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, bends, reaches, lifts to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, pushes and pulls.

Employee is regularly exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes, and aggregate materials.

Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats.
