About the Role

We’re seeking a hands-on Customer Data Scientist to join our centralised data team focused on delivering insight and value across one of the largest loyalty programmes in the FMCG space. This role is about enabling better loyalty analytics through customer segmentation, targeting models, improved monitoring, and data-driven investigative support.

You’ll work closely with our Senior Insight Analyst, product and programme teams, and data engineers to ensure our models and frameworks support real-time diagnostics, campaign effectiveness, and long-term programme performance.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain customer segmentation models using transactional, behavioural, and campaign data

Support targeting and optimisation of promotions through clustering, classification, and uplift models

Contribute to loyalty programme and promotion analysis by enabling reusable features and segmentation frameworks

Work with analysts and DataOps to enhance monitoring of promotions and surface data quality or behavioural anomalies

Support root cause investigations when promo or loyalty KPIs fluctuate unexpectedly

Develop tools and frameworks that enable real-time insight, faster diagnosis, and proactive action

Collaborate with dashboard developers to integrate model outputs into accessible reporting

Document modelling logic and ensure alignment with business goals and analyst workflows

What We're Looking For

3+ years of experience in customer data science, advanced analytics, or marketing science

Strong SQL and Python skills, with experience developing models in a commercial environment

Proven experience building and applying customer segmentations to drive business impact

Familiarity with model types including clustering, churn prediction, targeting, and uplift modelling

Ability to partner effectively with analysts, product teams, and engineering to operationalise models

Comfortable contributing to root cause analyses, anomaly detection, and loyalty performance evaluation

Experience working with loyalty, rewards, or CRM data is highly desirable

Background in consumer goods, e-commerce, or app-based analytics is a plus
