Job Description

Excellent Real Estate Development, Management, and Investment firm is looking to add a Controller to handle the following

Job Responsibilities:

Prepare and review month-end workpapers; analyze general ledger activity related to fixed and intangible asset depreciation/amortization, property taxes, insurance, loan activity, equity rolls, and lender/owner-held reserves.

Consolidate financials from third-party property managers and prepare lender/investor reporting packages, as needed.

Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance and reporting requirements for lenders and investors.

Lead the preparation and oversight of annual operating budgets for all managed properties.

Monitor, track, and process Real Estate Property Tax payments.

For indoor/outdoor storage (IOS) properties:

Review rent step-ups and tenant recoveries, including property tax and CAM reconciliations.

Consolidate financials and prepare related reports for lender and investor financing.

For self-storage assets:

Roll in financials, review activity, and prepare reporting for lenders and investors.

Assist with engagement planning and prepare year-end workpapers for audits and tax filings.

Coordinate and manage the audit process with external CPAs; review tax returns and K-1s.

Handle PTET filings, RPIE submissions, and tax certiorari filings.

Reconcile development project requisitions in coordination with asset management and development teams.

Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses as requested.

Salary: $140,000 to $160,000
