Job Title: Senior Piping Mechanical Estimator
Location: Denver, CO
Salary Range: $105,000 – $115,000 per year
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Piping Mechanical Estimator to join our client's team in Denver. This role plays a critical part in the preconstruction and project planning phases, providing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for piping and mechanical systems across diverse industrial and commercial projects.
This is a senior-level position requiring indirect supervision, independent judgment, and a deep understanding of complex piping systems, construction methodologies, and cost estimating techniques. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external partners, and will be expected to represent the estimating function confidently and autonomously.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed mechanical piping estimates using current cost data and engineering standards.
Review project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost analyses.
Apply diversified technical knowledge to a wide variety of project types, including industrial, commercial, and process piping systems.
Lead estimate development efforts and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams.
Independently analyze project risks and opportunities and recommend value engineering solutions where appropriate.
Interface directly with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain pricing and clarify scope.
Support the proposal and bidding process by preparing cost summaries, scope narratives, and supporting documentation.
Participate in project turnover meetings and offer continued estimating support through project execution, as needed.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Minimum of 7 years of mechanical and piping estimating experience in industrial or commercial construction.
Strong understanding of piping systems, fabrication, and installation techniques.
Proficient in estimating software and tools (such as Trimble, Bluebeam, or Sage Estimating).
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Proven ability to make sound decisions regarding methods, costs, and approach to complex estimating challenges.
