Rockwell / GM Programmer – Test Machine Integration

We are seeking an experienced Rockwell / GM Programmer to support a project launching at the end of June. This role involves working with GM Test Machines, though the systems will be deployed to a partner facility in Hillsdale, IL, rather than directly to GM.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and modify Rockwell PLC programs for GM-standard test equipment

Collaborate with engineering and controls teams to ensure system functionality meets end-user requirements

Execute debugging, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated test machines

Apply GM programming standards and integrate relevant Rockwell Automation tools

Conduct test simulations and validate logic in a production-like environment

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience with Rockwell Automation, including RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000

Strong background in GM control standards, particularly for test applications

Hands-on experience with machine testing, diagnostics, and system validation

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and functional specifications

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with GM test stand architecture

Experience working in or around Tier 1 automotive environments

Strong understanding of HMI development and communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP
