Department Overview

The McDonalds Global Experience Design team is a key part of the Global Technology Team which powers tomorrow’s feel-good moments. You’ll find us at the forefront of transformative technology, exploring new and innovative ways to serve our millions of customers.

We are seeking an emerging design leader to join our Experience Design team working on Enterprise Marketer Tooling. The position requires demonstrable expertise in enterprise application design with strong design work, design sensibility, and articulate storytelling. This is a hands-on role focused on both product discovery and design deliverables. The position involves participating in the entire design lifecycle - conducting design & user research, translating research data into actionable user flows, customer journey mapping, data-flow diagramming, wireframes, validation testing, and high-fidelity designs. The Sr. Manager, Experience Design will also assist with the maintenance of the Enterprise design system, including support in co-writing component specifications and defining accessibility standards. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity, passionate about design, and able to take initiative with minimal direction.

+ You ensure there is fierce customer focus throughout the entire product lifecycle process, from initial concepting to post-launch measurement.

+ Your design solutions are user-centric while also meeting business goals.

+ You champion ongoing improvements by considering market analysis, customer feedback, metrics, and usability findings.

+ You partner closely with product management and engineering teams to drive innovation and push the boundaries of what’s possible.

+ Your communication style makes it easy for stakeholders to understand and champion your team’s work.

+ You actively drive the design review cycle and ensure design requirements are executed through development.

+ You employ facilitation methods to effectively lead collaboration across teams.

+ You have experience applying Accessibility best practices (WCAG).

The ideal resource will have a quality portfolio that shows a depth of experience with:

+ Designing enterprise tools, with an eye toward pro-user utility

+ Facilitating strategic product design discussions to establish requirements & build cross-functional alignment

+ A highly developed capacity for UX diagramming (journeys and flows)

+ Demonstrated ability to connect design discovery insights with UI design concepts

+ User validation testing methods, including protocol development & design-led testing methods

+ Advocating for the role of design in an agile product development environment

+ Implementing detailed designs in Figma and translating that into JIRA or similar

Qualifications

+ 8+ years of experience in user centered experience design, with a focus on complex interfaces and enterprise application design.

+ Experience working with or conducting your own research, presenting results, and acting on the analysis.

+ Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

+ You have a strong portfolio that demonstrates creative design thinking with a deep understanding of Human Centered Design.

+ You are a design thinker who looks holistically for solutions that span the entire customer journey.

+ You are familiar with design thinking frameworks and workshopping methods

+ You understand and can speak to the importance of having familiarity with technical considerations needed across the various platforms we’re designing for.

+ You have excellent communication, presentation, and persuasion skills. You’ve demonstrated success in building buy-in for an innovative and bold strategic vision.

+ You’ve demonstrated the ability to deliver designs and services at a global scale.

+ You are passionate and knowledgeable about new and emerging design trends.

Salary Range

Salary Ranges-$$149,260.00 - $$190,310.00

The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience, and other job-related factors.
