Fleet Utilization and Deployment Manager Location: Irving, TX Company: Lindamood, Inc.
Overview:
Lindamood, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a Fleet Utilization and Deployment Manager to oversee the daily assignment, tracking, and optimization of our equipment fleet across multiple projects. This role is critical to ensuring that equipment resources are efficiently utilized, downtime is minimized, and field operations receive the equipment support needed to maintain project schedules.
The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, proactive problem-solver who can adapt quickly in a dynamic, field-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day scheduling, deployment, and movement of heavy equipment and support vehicles across active and upcoming project sites
Monitor and maximize fleet utilization by analyzing deployment plans, idle reports, and usage patterns
Maintain real-time records of equipment assignments, availability, and usage through HCSS Dispatcher and related systems
Coordinate closely with superintendents, project managers, and shop managers to fulfill equipment needs and forecast future requirements
Support preventative maintenance scheduling and downtime management by collaborating with maintenance teams and tracking status through HCSS Equipment360
Track and analyze utilization rates, equipment hours, downtime incidents, and movement metrics using HCSS HeavyJob reporting tools
Optimize logistics to reduce unnecessary mobilizations and improve operational efficiency
Ensure fleet operations are compliant with DOT regulations, internal safety policies, and all legal transport requirements
Assist in planning equipment needs for project mobilization and demobilization phases
Produce regular utilization reports, fleet dashboards, and performance summaries for leadership review
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, dispatching, or construction operations (heavy civil or heavy equipment experience highly preferred)
Strong working knowledge of heavy civil construction equipment (e.g., excavators, cranes, dozers, loaders, trucks, trailers)
Experience using HCSS software, specifically HeavyJob, Equipment360, and Dispatcher preferred but not required.
Familiarity with DOT compliance, heavy haul permitting, and equipment transport logistics
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize under pressure
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating across departments
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
High school diploma or GED required; additional technical or college education preferred
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly to project sites and equipment yards
Work Environment:
Based at the company equipment yard with frequent field visits
Outdoor work required at times in varying weather conditions
Must be available for flexible hours, including some early mornings, late evenings, or weekends based on project needs
