All qualified candidates will hear a response with in 24 hours #CJ TS/SCI w/ CI POLY Linux System Administrator As a System administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities.
You will work closely with Avalanche program developers and system engineers, as well as engineers on other programs that provide capabilities hosted in the Avalanche-supported environment, to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems.
The Avalanche program employs Agile methodology in managing work.
This position requires US Citizenship with a current TS/SCI with CI Poly Government Security Clearance.
Required Skills: • 6 years of experience directly related to Linux System Administration, including installation and maintenance of software and hardware.
• Experience administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux server (RHEL 6 & 7) based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management, and security.
• Experience with BASH scripting • Experienced using Jira, Ansible, and Red Hat IPA Server.
• In-depth experience with the deployment and administration of systems in Amazon Web Services (AWS)/Commercial Cloud Services (C2S) • Experience using Agile/Scrum development methodology (SAFe, Scrum, Khanban) • Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance • Must have an active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IA Level II Certification or higher • Experience with configuration and maintenance of a Kubernetes or similar containerized environment •AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification • Experience administering Amazon Linux servers (Amazon Linux 1 and 2) • Experience with operating system, security, and application logging technologies Desired Skills: • Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented • Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency • Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors • Communication and diplomatic skills • Experience with the configuration and maintenance of host base security tools such as McAfee • Experience troubleshooting Splunk performance issues / Opening support cases with Splunk • Experience monitoring the Splunk infrastructure for capacity planning and optimization.
Troubleshooting log feeds, field extractions, search time, etc.
• The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Splunk architecture, configuration, and management.
