Database Administrator II

Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently seeking a Database Administrator II to join our team.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of seven (7) years of experience with the following:

Assess user requests for new data elements and systems, integrating them into the existing shared data environment.

Utilize data modeling tools such as Tableau, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Informatica, and others.

Design both logical and physical data models, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs).

Implement database components within Oracle Cloud RDBMS and Salesforce CRM platforms.

Bring advanced data modeling expertise in designing, creating, and maintaining data models for production databases.

Generate database scripts using data modeling tools.

Apply updates and modifications to existing data model designs.

Create source-to-target mapping documentation to support ETL development efforts.

Develop complex database components including stored procedures, triggers, and PL/SQL packages.

Conduct requirements analysis and offer data mapping support to application and development teams.

PREFERRED

Minimum of five (5) years of experience with the following:

Coordination and Collaboration: collaborate with teams such as IT support, development, and operations to gather information and expertise.

Experience and Judgment: relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals.

Creativity and Innovation: requires creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and a degree of flexibility.

Supervision and Independence: works with limited supervision, exercising significant initiative and independent judgment.

Minimum of four (4) years of experience with the following:

Communication: keep stakeholders updated on the status of issues and solutions.

Aware of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the specific field.

Minimum of two (2) years of experience with the following:

Experienced in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move and transform data for business analysis and decision-making; strong background in data extraction from diverse sources.

Preferred certifications in Azure Data Factory (ADF) or Informatica.

Familiarity with PERL scripts is a plus.

Experienced in creating Tableau dashboards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Enters codes to create production data base.

Selects and enters codes of utility program to monitor database performance, such as distribution of records and amount of available memory.

Directs programmers and analysts to make changes to data base management system.

Reviews and corrects programs.

Answers user questions.

Confers with coworkers to determine impact of data base changes on other systems and staff cost for making changes to data base.

Modifies data base programs to increase processing performance, referred to as performance tuning.

Workers typically specialize in one or more types of data base management systems.

Providing assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, and ensuring that the conceptual and design phases of new applications are consistent with the structural parameters within the database environment.

Coordinates the use of data to ensure data integrity and control redundancy, loads databases, and reorganizes as needed.

Performs data modeling and prototyping.

Determines and implements database search strategies and storage requirements.

Maintains data dictionary ensuring uniformity of definitions and sets standards for use of data dictionary.
