RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as head of the Circulation Unit at the Southwest Regional Library. Hire, train, supervise, schedule and evaluate Southwest Regional Circulation Staff. Greet patrons, check library materials in and out, sort and route returned materials, place holds on materials and pull patron requests from the shelves. Register new borrowers, collect and record fees, and resolve issues related to library accounts. Facilitate and manage money handling to include, but not limited to, daily revenue reports, cash management reports, reconciling cash register, daily bank deposits, audits, and coin-op machine. Provide excellent customer service in a team-based environment. Serve on the regional library management team and committees as assigned. Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Regional Library Manager. Must be able to work a flexible schedule including one evening and a weekend rotation. This position is based at the Southwest Regional Library, but candidate could be asked to work at other library locations.
Work is performed with independence under the supervision of the Southwest Regional Library Manager.

REQUIREMENTS
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university and two years of paraprofessional experience in business, libraries or local government including six months supervisory or administrative experience.
PREFERRED
Public Library experience
Knowledge of library circulation systems and automation
