Job Summary

This position plays a key role in determining the detailed inventory plans for all US business units, along with guiding the overall global inventory plans for the company. This role works cross-functionally to manage the organization’s omni-channel forecasting and demand planning efforts, and each month recommends and defends a course of action to executive leadership. Additionally, it involves the development of tools, systems, and processes in support of business planning and forecasting best practices throughout the global organization.

This position is located in Portland, OR, and requires a regular presence at our global headquarters (at least three days per week).

Essential Functions

Manages US demand planning efforts for all product categories and business channels, including coaching and development of department staff.

Influences executive leadership to adopt recommended plans through presentation and personal leadership of the monthly Executive Forecast Alignment.

Serves as a demand subject matter expert and key leader for US sales and operations planning (S&OP).

Provides content and analysis, and serves as a contributing architect to the global S&OP process.

Works with Sales Planning, Finance, and Partner Services to develop company revenue targets and expectations by linking operations planning with financial forecasting.

Directs and participates in process improvements and supply chain projects.

Selects and/or develops tools and reports to enhance forecasting and inventory management.

Manages the US service level (safety stock) program.

Influences management teams to adopt forecasting and supply chain best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in finance, business, economics, statistics, supply chain, or related field - Required

Master's Degree or advanced level degree - Preferred

Minimum eight (8) years experience with demand planning and product forecasting at multiple organizations, including experience with footwear and/or apparel manufacturers/wholesalers.

Minimum three (3) years prior management experience, including demonstrated staff development and organizational restructuring.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong knowledge of Forecasting, Demand Planning, and Sales and Operations Planning better practices.

Demonstrated understanding of supply chain operations.

Ability to work cross-functionally to effect change.

Excellent analysis and critical thinking skills. Ability to influence other decision makers, supported by data and information.

Ability to work with autonomy in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines.

Persuasive communication skills (interpersonal, relationship-building) with a well-developed ability to speak, read, and write English, including writing clear and concise business communication, plus the ability to speak to groups of varying sizes and levels within the company, often including executive management.

Must have knowledge/ability to document processes, create proposals, and presentations.

Strong user of MS Office packages, with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Ability to quickly calculate, accurately manipulate, and create spreadsheets.

Understanding of global supply chain information systems and transactions. SAP systems experience highly desirable.

Experience with Forecasting software required.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Proven project management skills with the ability to lead and develop a team.

Travel Required 5% of the time

Base Salary: $131,500 - $145,000 yearly

This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.
