Job Summary
The Senior Demand Planner is a subject matter expert for Company decision making around demand forecasts and will create and present demand analytics and recommendations. The Senior Demand Planner is responsible for creating forecast for pre-season and in-season customer demand that incorporate industry trends and business intelligence data from sales, merchandising, marketing, finance and other sources. This position is responsible for creating and presenting analytics which inform forecast direction and inventory decisions for assigned product categories and regions as a part of the company Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and other processes. This role monitors demand planning metrics and process to drive continued improvement in forecast accuracy in the S&OP process and may mentor Demand Planners to meet team objectives.
Essential Functions
Operates as a key business partner supporting the Sales & Operations Planning process, in collaboration with key stakeholders and through historical performance analysis.
Drive demand planning process improvements and best practices to develop and evolve analytics and improve time-phased forecast accuracy which enable assigned business category achievement of sales and supply maintenance within targets.
Collaborate with Executive, Sales Planning, Merchandising and other groups to create and refine demand forecasts including an assessment and recommendations regarding risks, opportunities and considerations.
Summarize and present data and solicit feedback in forecast and planning meetings to align decisions regarding forecast direction and inventory.
Participate and lead internal and cross-functional business process and analytics, continuous improvement efforts, and/or projects.
Review inventory and available to sell (ATS) levels and create inventory flow models which support product service goals. May assist Demand Planners with analysis and data review. Escalate issues and recommend actions to cross functional partners, manager or executive leadership.
Gather, analyze and validate demand plan, forecasting accuracy, and trends. Recommend adjustments and apply analysis techniques to improve forecasting.
Develop inventory strategies, targets and reporting to monitor obsolete or slow-moving products and ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Management, or related field.
ASCM or IBF certification preferred
Five (5) years professional experience in demand planning, forecasting, supply chain, analytics, and/or related fields. A broad understanding of the apparel/footwear industry and a wholesale marketplace required.
Any equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilitites
Expert proficiency using Microsoft Excel. High proficiency SQL. Moderate experience using other Microsoft suite applications.
Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
Demonstrated ability to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations and processes and present recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders.
Proven experience analyzing data through business intelligence and visualization tools to develop forecasts and translate analysis into actionable recommendations. Experience working with statistical forecasts required. Demonstrated communication, interpersonal & presentation skills with proven impact influencing stakeholders across an organization.
Ability to influence senior leaders with analysis and recommendations.
Able to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks and meet deadlines.
Proactive in follow-through with business leaders, colleagues, and business partners, including high degree of self-direction.
Ability to travel internationally and domestically.
Travel Required: up to 10% of the time
Base Salary: $90,072.00 - $100,000.00 yearly
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience, knowledge and skills, and location.
