is looking to hire a full-time IBM Systems I /AS400 Programmer to join our team in Columbia SC.

No Remote Work at this time - position is located in Columbia SC.

The AS400 Programmer is involved in the full systems life cycle for application software to plan and create specialized software applications.

This is an excellent opportunity for a person with enterprise level experience looking to work for a stable company in a dynamic environment.

Job responsibilities include: Collaborates with business analysts and team members to understand business and user requirements that drive the analysis and creative design of technical solutions Develops code and designs software applications based on user specifications.

Modifies existing software to correct errors or improve performance.

Monitors and assists with software testing and validation procedures and programming Coding for product maintenance and support Ensuring solutions are aligned with business and IT strategies and standards Applying experience and knowledge to develop quality technical solutions Collaborates with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems to support applications.

Advises clients on software maintenance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines.

Extensive knowledge of coding languages and systems.

Ability to learn new coding languages and technologies.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Stable work history with experience in the full software life cycle.

Education and Experience: Associates degree required, Bachelor degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Three - five years of experience as software developer or engineer with RPG IV / ILE Experience working with Embedded SQL; CL, DB2, iSeries AS/400, IBM System I/AS400.
