Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Supplier Quality Engineer to support the quality assurance function across its supply chain operations. This role focuses on preparing suppliers for successful project execution, ensuring they meet all quality expectations, and leading problem-solving efforts to maintain consistent product and process quality.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, hands-on experience with root cause and corrective action processes, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams. This position plays a key role in driving continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with quality standards and procedures.
Implement tools and processes to ensure suppliers are prepared for new work and capable of delivering first-time quality
Analyze supplier defects and lead investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
Support supply chain quality initiatives in alignment with organizational goals
Drive continuous improvement efforts through Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Perform remote and on-site supplier evaluations, addressing quality concerns and driving performance improvement
Support deployment of advanced product quality planning (APQP) and production part approval process (PPAP) with key suppliers
Collaborate with internal teams to manage supplier corrective action requests (SCARs), audits, risk mitigation, and first article inspections (FAIs)
Monitor supplier performance metrics, identify trends, and develop improvement plans
Facilitate supplier engagement in regular reviews to drive accountability and quality improvements
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering
Strong understanding of quality science principles and 8D problem-solving methodology
Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills
Experience working with suppliers to implement quality improvements and resolve non-conformances
Knowledge of relevant industry standards including AS9100, NADCAP, and special process controls
Preferred Skills
Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher)
Expertise in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) methods
Familiarity with AS9145, APQP/PPAP, and IPC-A-600 standards
Education
Bachelorâ s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
