Job Title: Accounting Intern

Reports to: Assistant Accounting Leader
Job Summary:
The Accounting Intern supports the finance and accounting team by assisting with various financial tasks, gaining hands-on experience in accounting principles, and contributing to the organization’s financial operations. This role provides exposure to analytics, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes.
Essential Functions:
Assist with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
Help prepare financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements
Reconcile bank statements and financial transactions
Assist with tax filings reviews and compliance documentation
Work with accounting software and spreadsheets to analyze financial data
Attend meetings and collaborate with the finance team on projects
Education and/or Experience:
Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Understanding of financial statements and reconciliation procedures
Adaptability to learn new accounting processes and tools
Collaboration to work effectively with finance teams
Initiative to take on responsibilities and contribute proactively
Positive can-do attitude, self-motivated with the intellectual curiosity to get it right the first time, and a strong work ethic
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit for long periods of time; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; bend and perform manual tasks.
The employee will be required to communicate verbally and by phone.
Visual acuity is required including color, depth perception, and field of vision.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
