Department Department of Physics Florida State University College of Arts & Sciences Responsibilities * Designing and constructing special-purpose analog, digital, and RF electronics equipment for the John D.

Fox Superconducting Accelerator Laboratory, in collaboration with the faculty and other staffs working in the laboratory.

* Repairing and maintaining commercially manufactured electronic equipment for the facility.

* Instructing faculty, staffs, and graduate students in the use of the specialized equipment.

* Interpreting and analyzing results.

* Coordinating the installation, testing, and scheduled maintenance program for specific equipment.

* Evaluating and analyzing operational log and diaries.

* Maintaining facilities for manufacturing and assembling printed circuit boards.

* Maintaining inventory of electronic components in the NRB electronics shop.

Qualifications Bachelor's degree; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to four years.

(Note: a combination of post high school education and experience may substitute at a comparable rate.) Preferred Qualifications * Experience in design and manufacturing of analog and digital electronics.

* Experience in repair and maintenance of electronic equipment.

* Ability to interpret complex electronic diagrams.

* Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

* Ability to document existing and new processes.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Anticipated Salary Range The anticipated starting salary for this position is in the $50,000's, commensurate with experience and education.
