Position Description:
Work within the Civil & Utility estimating group performing a variety of estimating tasks.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop experience to determine what types of projects to bid, strategies and techniques
Assist in review of estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness, prior to formal quotation
Participate in presentations to corporate management and clients
Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts, change orders, etc., as required
May assist in the preparation of studies, materials, methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required
Procure pricing form subcontractors and material vendors
Pick up plans and specifications, attend pre-bid meetings and deliver proposals
Perform quantity take-off
Assist with collecting cost data to be used as a reference in future estimates
Qualifications:
BS. in civil engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or equivalent experience
A thorough knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques is required
Knowledge of construction contracts is a must
Excellent organizational, supervisory and decision-making and problem-solving skills are essential
Experience in construction estimating and related functions preferred
Experience with heavy civil and utility construction including public works (airport, transit and bridges), gas and electrical transmission, energy plant construction is a plus
Fluency in HCSS Heavy Bid Software preferred
Benefits:
Base salary between $130,000 - $165,000.
Annual bonus.
90% cost of healthcare paid for by company.
3 weeks starting PTO, 12 public holidays.
401k plus match
