STV currently has an opening in our Virginia Beach, VA office for a Civil Engineering Specialist in our Transportation & Infrastructure division. This person will primarily perform production of construction documents, plans, specifications, estimates and various studies and reports for road/highway projects including but not limited to design projects for public agencies.

Job responsibilities:

Develop site/civil designs for various types of transportation infrastructure, including transit stations and stops, bike/ped, roadway, bus rapid transit, light rail, and maintenance facilities

Prepare engineering design drawings, sketches, and calculations utilizing applicable codes and standards

Provide engineering support for all phases of project development, from planning through final design and construction

Coordinate with other disciplines for design input and preparation of deliverables

Assist in development of cost estimates, reports, and specifications

Support program management for ongoing engineering tasks, including development of submittals and monitoring schedules, budgets, and program progress

Participate in project public meetings and visit project sites

Interact with clients, stakeholders, and members of multidisciplinary teams

Required Skills & Required Experience:

BS in Civil Engineering

Virginia Engineering Intern (EI) certification preferred

Exposure to transportation, highway and roadway design, or closely related engineering field.

Proficient in Bentley Open Roads Designer

Familiarity with VDOT Roadway Standards, Criteria, and Specifications

Excellent interpersonal skills

Compensation Range:$55,640.14 - $74,186.85
