The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.
We have an immediate need for a Software Engineer with Aerospace Systems experience to provide onsite support in Arlington, VA.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will apply a strong technical background and a proactive attitude in support of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Tactical Technology Office (TTO). Will utilize their technical skills to understand the complex problems associated with DARPA programs, while simultaneously providing the necessary management support to execute the day-to-day requirements. The candidate will support periodic (monthly or bi-weekly) performer assessments to analyze programmatic, technical, and schedule risks; assist in the development of risk mitigation strategies; and communicate findings to the Program Manager. The candidate will assist with program administration, including development of technical analyses, identification of technology gaps, technical risk management, project cost estimation, technology transfer efforts, and other program execution operations.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, with Software Engingeering or Computer Science degrees preferred
Top Secret Clearance with SCI elegibility required
5+ years of overall experience, including experience with software development best practices acting as a product/project manager or as a developer
Experience with AI/ML software applications
Experience with modeling and simulation software, increasing machine-learning model performance, building predictive models, and familiarity with GPU-Accelerated M&S environments
Able to work fully onsite based on client needs
Desired:
Master's degree in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline
Experience with Aircraft Controls or Systems such as flight dynamics, radar systems, sensors, data links, communications networks
Previous DARPA experience as a SETA or performer
Active TS/SCI clearance
