Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial and operational functions for an IT consulting firm based in Washington, DC. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can develop and implement systems, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and drive organizational success. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of fostering collaboration and inclusivity within teams, while ensuring the organization’s financial operations align with strategic goals.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and update company financial records in Unanet on a monthly basis, preparing comprehensive financial reporting packages.
• Oversee daily financial, contractual, and operational activities, ensuring alignment with business plans and objectives.
• Analyze and optimize operational systems and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Develop financial metrics, reports, and dashboards using Unanet to support budgeting, project accounting, and contract management.
• Monitor and report on program and division performance metrics, including revenue, margins, indirect rates, and profitability.
• Create complex Excel-based pricing and cost models for proposals, project budgets, and government RFP responses.
• Collaborate with program and division managers to establish and manage departmental budgets and financial reporting.
• Ensure effective communication with management, staff, and vendors to maintain smooth operations.
• Lead regular program management reviews focused on project financials, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Prepare specialized financial reports by consolidating and evaluating data to confirm financial status and support decision-making.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles with increasing responsibility.
• Expertise in accounting software systems, including proficiency in Unanet Financials.
• Strong knowledge of financial functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and budget processes.
• Experience managing operational systems and implementing process improvements.
• Ability to develop complex financial models and templates for pricing and cost analysis.
• Familiarity with ADP financial services and regulatory compliance practices.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to foster collaboration across departments.
• Demonstrated ability to identify risks and implement strategic solutions to mitigate them.
