Power BI Consultant

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Consultant to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this long-term contract position, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing a robust Power BI framework to support data governance and reporting needs. Responsibilities:

• Design and implement a scalable Power BI framework tailored to meet organizational data governance and reporting requirements.

• Analyze existing data systems and workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

• Develop universal reporting models and templates for streamlined usage across departments.

• Transition legacy reporting systems, such as Crystal Reports, to a modern Power BI architecture.

• Ensure database security and compliance with industry standards throughout the development process.

• Document best practices, operating procedures, and standards for data management and report delivery.

• Conduct training sessions to transfer knowledge and ensure effective use of the Power BI framework.

• Monitor and optimize the framework for improved performance and scalability.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align deliverables with organizational goals.• Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI with proven experience in design and implementation.

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.

• Solid background in database administration and security practices.

• Experience transitioning legacy reporting systems to modern platforms like Power BI.

• Familiarity with data governance principles and regulatory compliance standards.

• Excellent analytical skills for evaluating and optimizing complex workflows.

• Ability to document processes clearly and communicate effectively with diverse teams.

• Experience in conducting training sessions and knowledge transfer initiatives.
