Controller

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a contract basis in the greater Hartford area. This position will support a large distribution and manufacturing organization, focusing on financial management and consolidation of domestic and international entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and intercompany transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and mentor two accounting staff to ensure accurate and timely financial operations.

• Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports and statements.

• Manage the consolidation process for four domestic and international entities.

• Conduct detailed account analysis and reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

• Utilize and maintain fixed asset systems and intercompany accounting processes.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Leverage VISUAL Enterprise and Sage FAS software for financial management tasks.

• Provide expertise in cost accounting to support business operations.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management.

• Proficiency in preparing and consolidating financial statements for multiple entities.

• Strong knowledge of account analysis, reconciliation, and intercompany accounting.

• Experience with fixed asset management systems, particularly Sage FAS.

• Familiarity with VISUAL Enterprise software is highly preferred.

• Background in cost accounting is a plus.

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
