Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Attorney with experience in Workers' Compensation defense to join our team on a contract basis. This role requires someone who is detail oriented and can respond to discovery and notices effectively while the primary attorney is unavailable. The position will begin with 1-3 days of in-office training and transition to remote work thereafter. We are open to applicants available 20-40 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and respond to discovery documents, notices, and other legal correspondence related to Workers' Compensation cases.
• Manage case files using relevant case management software to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address case-specific concerns.
• Adhere to deadlines and quality standards for legal documentation and communication.
• Participate in initial training sessions on-site before transitioning to remote work.
• Ensure all actions align with Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.
• Provide support in managing ongoing cases during the primary attorney’s absence.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Workers' Compensation defense litigation.
• Proficiency in using case management software to organize and manage legal documents.
• Strong understanding of Workers' Compensation laws and regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Licensed to practice law in the state of California.
