Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time, onsite position in the Anchorage, AK area for the 20252026 school year. This is an itinerant position requiring travel throughout the Anchorage area, serving students in multiple school settings.

We strongly prefer candidates who are dual-certified or actively pursuing certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) in Alaska.

Position Details:

Schedule: Full-Time, 7.5 hours per day

Caseload: 1015 students, ages 322

Student Needs:

Students with vision loss and multiple disabilities

Braille learners (elementary and high school levels)

Low vision students requiring regular material adaptations

Some 504 students

Instruction: Direct instruction, material creation/delivery

Setting: In-person only, itinerant model across multiple schools

Responsibilities:

Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments, including Braille and low vision adaptations

Deliver services in pliance with IEP/504 plans

Develop and adapt instructional materials tailored to individual student needs

Collaborate with school staff, families, and other service providers

Travel across the Anchorage area to provide onsite services

Maintain accurate records and data on student progress

Requirements:

Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired

Orientation and Mobility Specialist license (preferred) or active pursuit of Alaska O&M licensure

Ability to work with a broad range of student ages and abilities

Reliable transportation for travel within Anchorage

Must pass background checks and meet school district onboarding requirements
