We are seeking quality engineer who enjoys working as a member of a team to support, improve & drive elements of our quality standards. This position is responsible for the overall quality of procured products and vendor quality. This position will report to our Quality Leader and will work collaboratively with other parts of the organization and team members to maximize success for Trystar and our customers.We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

Job Responsibilities:

Work cross functionally within the company to secure products and projects.

Ensure supplier processes are robust and consistent to deliver a Quality Assured product.

Creation and implementation of data collection and metrics to ensure products meet or exceed requirements.

Be an Ambassador for Quality Assurance.

Provide technical support by working closely with the procurement teams.

Build strong relationships with suppliers, highlighting improvement opportunities.

Work with speed and agility to quickly solve supplier quality issues.

Deliver training on Quality Assurance & various tools both internally and at suppliers.

Implement and monitor supplier part qualification and certification processes.

Assure supplier understanding and compliance with product PPAP submission and approval requirements.

Review and approve supplier quality plans for new component parts and assemblies for use in manufacturing.

Review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems.

Analysis of return materials and warranty information.

Determine root cause of supplier manufacturing problems and implementing timely, effective, and efficient quality resolutions.

Verify effectiveness of supplier’s corrective actions, validated by data and metrics.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

BS in Engineering or related technical discipline

Experience 3+ years in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of Quality Systems Planning (APQP), including PPAP.

Proficient in print reading and interpretation, part measurement, gage design and function.

Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, tooling, equipment, and facilities.

Ability to investigate quality problems and to apply sound technical judgment to develop potential solutions.

Ability to travel up to 30% (daily commutable and overnight combined).

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Exposure to statistical knowledge (probability and statistics)

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize efficiently

Analytical and computer skills with experience with Epicor ERP / MRP or similar and Microsoft 365Strong team facilitation skills and the ability to motivate teams and individuals not in a direct line of control to advance on improvement projects

Six Sigma / DMAIC problem Solving Experience

Awareness of electrical standards or compliance certifications (UL, ETL, CSA)
