POSITION SUMMARY
Looking for an Engineering, Manufacturing or Technology major student to work during the summer and school breaks and assist tooling engineers, program managers, and process engineers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with launch of new programs
Update Plant Layouts/locating equipment
Cell design
Equipment/Fixture Design
Support programs to improve processes within the company including
Create shop drawings
Document required sizes/products for spare inventory on diecast dies
Document/measure diecast machine information to improve design of tooling
Development of thermal imaging program
Scrap reduction and cycle time improvements
Collect data to determine baseline
Develop plan for improvement and track results
Improve uptime and reduce scrap through Lean Manufacturing techniques.
Follow all MKC and IATF 16949:2016 procedures.
Ensure processes are stable and meet customer requirements in productivity and quality performance.
Maintain clean and safe working environment.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Combination of Office and Production floor environment. 1st Shift Hours 7AM-3PM
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical exertion required with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Regularly stand for long periods of time as well as walk with frequent lifting, bending, twisting, and moving about the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Enrolled in an accredited Engineering, Manufacturing or Technology degree program.
Strong Excel and computer skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Excellent communication skills
2D/3D CAD Experience Preferred (Solidworks, AutoCAD, NX)
