Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

This position performs quality assurance monitoring, troubleshooting, data collection verifying the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Systems are functioning properly. Fill in as an alternate when QA Techs are short staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for checking the temperatures, and cleanliness of all rooms.

Responsible for conducting pre-op, atp and operational sanitation inspection and preparing corrective action documentation with the support of the QA Supervisor/Lead/QA Specialist/Manager in their assigned area (i.e., lines)

Verify visually that all machines are in good working condition.

Verify all employees are wearing proper PPE.

Responsible for making sure all water tubs are filled every 2 hours (if needed).

Conduct a PPM test each hour.

Inspect all food contact surfaces for cleanliness and any ruptures.

Responsible for checking the product every fifteen/thirty minute to ensure everything is in order, such as labels, boxes, product lot, lot stamp, weight, dates, etc.

Verify the boxes, bags, and pails depending on how many will be used in the bag room.

Ensure all entryways have Multi quad.

Responsible for making samples to send to the lab.

Responsible for collecting and evaluating product samples.

Ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner, such as metal detector check log, temperatures, x-ray check log, daily x-ray inspection, packed summary report, peeled production summary report, scale calibration, PAA log sheet, magnet check log sheet, product hold log, packing log, etc.

Responsible for checking the metal detector (x-ray when in use) each hour in the bag room.

Keep inventory of chemicals.

Keep the supervisor abreast of everything going on in the work area.

Employees must comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

MUST be able and willing to work a different work shift schedule.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Microsoft Software such as Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook is desirable but not required for employment.

Required Experience:

Experience in food safety and production area.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform inspections.

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and condensed work areas.

Employees are exposed to dust particles.

Employees are exposed to extreme heat/cold. The noise level in the work environment is generally high. (Safety protection will be provided)

While performing the duties of this position, the employee must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (i.e., hairnets, beard restraints, etc.)
