MATSYS, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician (QA Tech) to join its team of high- performing scientists, engineers, and technicians at its Sterling, VA facility. The Quality Technician plays a key role in ensuring that manufactured products meet established standards and customer requirements. This role involves performing precise measurements, inspections, and tests on components and finished goods, documenting results, and working closely with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues. This position will be responsible for executing the quality assurance program as directed by the Operations Manager. The QA Technician will conduct testing, inspections, and participate in audits. They will work with the Operations Manager and other business unitstoreportandaddressfindingsfromqualityactivities.Theidealcandidatewill have experience with testing, inspecting, and conducting audits in a machine shop environment. The successful candidate will be hired as a Technician I or II based on experience and skillset.

Description
Data Recording & Reporting
Accurately measure parts and evaluate conformity
Record inspection results accurately in electronic systems or paper-based logs
Generate and distribute quality reports, control charts, and non-conformance logs to stakeholders
Non-Conformance Management
Identify, tag, and segregate non-conforming materials or products
Initiate and follow through on corrective actions (CARs), root-cause analyses, and preventative actions (CAPAs)
Process Audits & Continuous Improvement
Participate in regular process audits to verify adherence to quality procedures and work instructions
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives by collecting data, suggesting process optimizations, and validating changes

Required
U.S. citizenship (by virtue of contract requirements)
1yearofQualityAssurance/QualityControlexperience in a production environment
3 years of related working experience
Experience using metrology equipment (i.e., calipers and micrometers, etc.)
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred
2 years of Quality Assurance/Quality Control experience in a production environment
5 years of related working experience
Knowledge of measuring and inspection equipment including:
Programming and operating Coordinated Measuring Machines (Zeiss preferred)
Optical Comparators
Hand tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges
Quality Auditor/Inspector training and certification (ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or ASQ CQI)
2-year degree, technical certification, or equivalent
