TITLE: Maintenance Technician
DEPARTMENT: Maintenance
REPORTS TO: Exhaust Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on all pieces of production equipment primarily focused on Fabrication equipment and NC machinery. Responsible for assisting the Exhaust/Maintenance Supervisor with all critical technical information required to make informed decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Thoroughly understand and adhere to the department goals, objectives, and strategy
Establish and maintain credibility throughout the organization as an effective developer of solutions
Present and maintain positive morale amongst employees
Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance on all production equipment using all resources available to minimize equipment downtime
Assist Exhaust Supervisor in establishing and modifying preventative maintenance tasks
Confer daily or when necessary on the status of any improper equipment
Assist others in the Maintenance department as needed
Provide Exhaust Supervisor with recommendations for repair work that cannot be accomplished in house and schedule manufacturer’s service technician visits
Daily maintaining of department’s preventative maintenance board
Provide management with recommendations for equipment replacement
Provide technical expertise in moving and installing machining centers
Ability to follow and adhere to company safety standards and understand appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experienced working as a maintenance technician or equivalent
Flexible, energetic, forward-thinking, and creative with high moral and ethical standards
High analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Well organized and self-directed
Able to relate to people at all levels of the organization in a positive fashion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications
Minimum of 3 years experience in maintaining manufacturing equipment
Working knowledge of PLC control systems
Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
Working knowledge of single phase and three phase wiring
Demonstrated ability to understand electrical and mechanical equipment drawings and apply that to the equipment troubleshooting and repair
Minimum of 3 years experience preferred in related field
