Job Description
Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled AWS System Administrator with strong Linux system administration experience to manage and maintain our cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Linux environments alongside cloud security, performance optimization, and automation to ensure a reliable and scalable AWS environment.

Salary: $150,000 - $170,000
You Will:
AWS Infrastructure Management – Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of AWS services with a focus on Linux-based EC2 instances and services.
Linux System Administration – Administer and maintain Linux servers in both cloud and hybrid environments, including performance tuning, patching, and security hardening.
System Monitoring & Troubleshooting – Ensure system reliability, monitor performance, and resolve technical issues across Linux and Windows platforms.
Security & Compliance – Implement security best practices for Linux systems, manage access controls, and ensure compliance with DoD and industry standards.
Backup & Disaster Recovery – Develop and maintain robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for Linux-based workloads.
Automation & Optimization – Utilize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and CloudFormation and automate tasks with Bash, Python, or Ansible.
Collaboration & Support – Work closely with development and operations teams to optimize cloud and Linux server solutions.
Patch Management & Upgrades – Apply updates, patches, and system enhancements to maintain performance and security.
PeopleSoft Support – Manage and support PeopleSoft PeopleTools on Windows Servers.
Administrative Automation – Automate Linux administrative tasks using scripts or orchestration tools.
Compliance & Security – Ensure systems comply with security policies and support vulnerability mitigation.
Capacity Planning & Architecture – Participate in capacity planning, system architecture reviews, and performance assessments.
Disaster Recovery – Support recovery drills and maintain Linux recovery documentation.
You Have:
U.S. Citizenship
A minimum of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to hire date
Security+ CE Certification (or equivalent)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or Amazon Linux)
Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)
Familiarity with Windows Server administration (for supporting PeopleSoft)
Knowledge of cloud security, networking, and compliance
Experience with IaC and automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Preferred:
Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
Experience hardening Linux systems in DoD environments
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and quality-focused mindset
