Job Description
Shipping and Receiving Clerks/Dispatchers are responsible for keeping records of all products shipped and received in a company. They ensure goods aligned with shipping containers are accurate, develop mailing labels and shipping documents and ensure that all orders have been filled correctly. These workers may also verify incoming shipments by scanning barcodes to store that information into computers.
Shipping and Receiving workers usually perform many of the following tasks:
Performing unpacking of parcel shipment deliveries.
Preparing shipping documents.
Maintaining records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Consolidating shipping orders.
Creating mailing labels
Routing w/ Carriers
Yard Counts of Trailer/Container inventory
Check in/out shipments by working with Truck Drivers

Education
Candidates for Shipping and Receiving jobs need to have a High School Diploma or equivalent education level as a minimum requirement.
