Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic / Packaging (Direct Hire)
Job Type: Full Time / Direct Hire
Location: Canandaigua, NY
Shift: Off shifts / B or C Shift – varied shifts available
Pay: $22-43/hr. depending on experience – shift differential
**Sign on bonus: $5000.00

The Job Duties:
Mechanics or Technical skills considered
Industrial Maintenance required
Able to repair, install and maintain bearings / cylinders / belts / motors / conveyors
Automation experience helpful: Bagging machines / case tapers / some robotic palletizing
Electrical and PLC experience
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on production machines
Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications
Troubleshoot malfunctions through understanding of power transmission systems, fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics), and other machine components and systems
Locate root cause of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments
Assist with changeovers and prepare machinery for scheduled production runs
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
Diagnose and prioritize problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust as required to return machinery to service
Understand production systems and machinery thoroughly to identify and correct to avoid unnecessary or repeated downtime.
Anticipate wear and/or downtime through routine observation and operator feedback
Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track completed work orders and schedule future work
Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), properly wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow all safety and company policies at all times
Having your own tools and be able to use them safely **Big plus
Background Profile:
High school diploma or equivalent
Mechanical troubleshooting experience requires
Electrical experience strongly preferred but not required
Experience in manufacturing preferred
