Civil Construction Laborer

Job Description

The Construction Laborer assists with excavating electrical duct banks and utility vaults as part of our underground utility projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work well within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in excavating for utility vault installations related to underground utilities.

Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete excavation tasks.

Help prepare sites for utility vault placement by ensuring proper depth and alignment.

Perform backfilling and site restoration after vault installation.

Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety.

Follow directions from supervisors and experienced laborers to ensure project accuracy.

Conduct site inspections and report any issues or hazards to supervisors.

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations on the job site.

Participate in training sessions to improve skills and knowledge of civil construction practices.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in construction or labor work is a plus, but not required.

Basic knowledge of trenching and cement vault installation processes is advantageous.

Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.

Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Valid driver’s license is preferred.

Reliable transportation to/from jobsites.
