Router Operator/Programmer 1
Position Title: Machine Operator 1 (Router Operator)

Shift: Swing Shift 3:30pm-2:00am Mon.-Thurs.
Compensation $22.00-$27.00 DOE

Why we need you and what you’ll be responsible for:
SAFE Boats is a high- performance aluminum boat builder with record sales, and we need awesome people to help us build cool boats! In this role, you would be responsible for operating computer-controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on metal under general supervision. Set up and operate a CNC gantry style router to produce precision metal and plastic parts and components. Precision component makers who fabricate, modify, or repair mechanical components. Will also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
What you’d be doing:
Set up, adjust, and operate all the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
Stop machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling, setup, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequences.
Confer with supervisors or programmers to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors, and to obtain approval to continue production.
Listen to machines during operation to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems.
Lift work pieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes.
Check to ensure that work pieces are properly lubricated and cooled during machine operation.
Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Transport via fork or other type of lifts the raw and finished materials.

Instructing - Teaching others how to do something.
Control Precision - The ability to adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle quickly and repeatedly to exact positions.
Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position.
Reaction Time - The ability to quickly respond (with the hand, finger, or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears.
Near Vision - The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
Ability to drive and operate a Forklift
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Over 3 years of related experience preferred
Ability to Pass Internal Forklift Certification training
Physical Requirements:
Able to lift to 40 lbs. Position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks.
