Job Description
To facilitate the load planning of the company’s fleet of trucks for all over size and heavy loads.
Provide truck/trailer configurations to clients when requested
Operations
o Review Permits for accuracy
o Superload Forms with clients – prepare and send to clients to get permission from each state(s)
o Update clients with permit status
o Update clients with truck status – daily or as requested for all super loads or as requested by client
o Provide clients with drawings of load securement and/or maneuverability diagrams
o Create Survey Reports gathered from company employee site visits (lay down yards, suggestions for site improvements, turns etc)
o Update billing department with final costs to client for services Permits not used, Equipment not used, Escorts not used etc
o Assist permit manager in surveys and routing
o Update mechanic shop and equipment manager daily with trailer configurations
o Assist dispatch daily in driver and equipment selection
o Answer phone calls and after-hours calls – any permit or equipment configuration issues and Monitor all night moves and bridge crossings on oversize and super loads
o Works with drivers to confirm that their equipment gauges for weight, axle spacings, weight per axle and over all dimensions match permits and reports this information back to operations manager
o Assign axle scales to drivers to check for weight as needed
o Ensure that the size and weight (individual and overall) match the permits at the itinerary level
o Update Permit Manager on any timeline changes and/or equipment issues regarding mechanical, dimensions and weight
o Update pricing team through weekly operations meeting with any industry changes on routing, escort, survey and police pricing concerns
o Coordinate all equipment configurations
o Parking arrangements for over size and weight vehicles
o Itineraries for drivers
o First point of contact for drivers hauling oversize and heavy
o Responsible for Pre, Post and dimensional checklist from drivers

o Fill in for dispatch
o Hire and onboard escorts in Permit Manager’s absence
