Job Description
The Programmer will create flat layouts and tool paths from customer supplied prints and computer-generated drawings for production use. Direct responsibilities include: working closely with production control, estimating, customers, and production leads to efficiently produce customer parts. Responsibilities
Assist in the estimating process as well as quoting and purchasing materials.
Interpret customer prints and drawings to convert to AutoCad 2D and 3D Inventor.
Pursue customer approval of prints produced prior to releasing an order to production
Create correct tool paths for customer parts.
Resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues regarding production prints.
Conduct work activity at the direction of the Production Planner.
Discuss job priorities and production problems with production leads on occasion.
Qualifications/Skills
AAS in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent in AutoCad 2D/3D Inventor, drafting in a metal manufacturing/assembly plant.
Knowledge of various production operations in press brake equipment, punch press equipment, strippit, CNC, and advanced understanding of blueprint dimensions and mechanical drawings.
Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, coworkers, and outside engineers.
Assist customer with understanding design options.
Knowledge of fixtures, tools, and gauges to measure tolerances.
Mechanical skills in operating equipment to produce parts to print.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
