Job Title: QA Automation Engineer

Place of Performance: State Office Harriman Campus, Building 12, 1220 Washington Ave, Albany, NY 12226

Minimum Experience: 7 years

Rate: $28/hr - $36/hr

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 30 months

Position Overview:

GD Resources is seeking a highly experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to lead quality assurance and testing initiatives across multiple application areas, including unemployment insurance, workforce development, and labor standards systems. The role includes responsibility for building and executing robust testing strategies and automation frameworks to ensure high performance and reliability of enterprise IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop comprehensive test artifacts such as strategies, traceability matrices, and UAT plans

Write SQL queries to validate back-end processing and data accuracy

Analyze business requirements and translate them into test scenarios

Execute functional test cases and validate application behavior

Perform defect analysis and reporting using tools like ALM, QTP/UFT, Selenium, and SoapUI

Lead test automation initiatives using JavaScript, VBScript, C/C++, and Selenium

Manage test data coordination with relevant stakeholders

Conduct accessibility testing in compliance with ADA standards

Guide stakeholders through UAT processes and provide training on test execution

Qualifications:

7+ years of experience as a lead tester

7+ years of experience using test tools from vendors such as IBM, HP, Mercury, or Microsoft

7+ years of experience writing SQL queries for back-end validation

7+ years of experience with JavaScript, VBScript, Selenium, and C/C++

7+ years of experience using tools like ALM, UFT, LoadRunner, ClearCase, FunctionalTester, ClearQuest, BrowseEmAll, SoapUI, Tosca, and qTest

7+ years of experience testing web services in a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment

7+ years of experience supporting Agile software development methodologies

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or Engineering
