What you will doRoom patients, perform and document vital signs and patient backgrounds.Coordinate provider schedules and appointment, enter orders and prepare patient charts.Coordinate provider schedules and appointment, enter orders and prepare patient charts.Instruct patients and families as directed within scope of licensure or certification.Prepare patients and assist medical providers with in-office procedures and prepare and administer medications/immunizations.Maintain exam rooms and equipment to be within infection control standards.
Ensure appropriate levels of medical supplies for each patient room.
Education QualificationsCurrent clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, or Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing Required Experience Qualifications160 hours of hands-on patient care RequiredCurrent clinical experience as a Medical Assistant PreferredCurrent clinical experience as a Licensed Practical Nuse PreferredCurrent experience as an Emergency Medical Technician or Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Preferred Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of principles and skills needed for practical nurse or medical assistant to provide patient careKnowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient careKnowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environmentFosters work and patient relationships through excellent interpersonal skills and behaviors.Ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy levelAbility to prioritize work and meet changing demands.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Possess skills to effectively solve problems.Proficient in the use of EMR systems, computer, phone, and office equipment.Possess effective written and verbal communication.
Licenses and CertificationsIf holds other licenses that supersede CMA/RMA license may practice to the highest level of licensure with the approval of Quality Resources in writing.
Approval to be kept on file with department supervisor.
Employee must maintain licensure to continue working at higher level of service.Certified as a Medical Assistant, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, or Registered Medical Assistant in the state of WI through an approved accreditor.
