Job Description
Role
Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Project Controls Lead will be responsible for overseeing projects and reporting within a division, while providing guidance to Project Controllers within that division. The Project Controls Lead, and their team will work closely with Project Managers and other stakeholders to develop and maintain robust project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics that align with project goals and deliverables.
Responsibilities
Mentor and train project controls staff in all aspects of project scheduling, cost control, and reporting to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Conduct regular project performance reviews, providing insights and recommendations for corrective actions to address variances.
Ensure all assigned projects have validated, up-to-date data, reviewed by themselves or their team.
Provide consolidated internal and external financial reports in accordance with defined timelines.
Monitor project cash flows and generate client invoices.
Review project contracts and ensure compliance with cost and scheduling data.
Provide support and guidance to the team for divisional reporting, earned value reporting, and coordination with Regional Directors.
Provide guidance on the use of project management software tools to ensure accurate data management and reporting.
Facilitate communication across project teams to address and resolve project controls issues proactively.
Support the continuous improvement of project controls practices through innovation and best practice sharing.
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $75,000.000 - $105,000.00 USD at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
Requirements
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or a diploma in Finance, Accounting or Business Management is required.
Accreditations such as from the PCI, PMI, or AACE (such as CCP, CAPM, PMP) will be considered an asset.
Experience as a project controller in a construction environment and more specifically with an EPC would be considered a strong asset.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite 365, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing a project controls team is considered a strong asset.
