SUMMARY
Paragon Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Assistant Safety Manager for West Texas. This position will be assisting with writing plans, safety training, enforcing safety programs, and other duties as assigned. Manages, monitors, and advises Project Manager on all matters related to the Health and Safety of personnel and issues affecting/ impacting the Environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide daily site safety assessments and training for specific contractor activities.
Review and assess contractor safety plans and activity hazard analysis.
Attend meetings as required
Input safety reports
Assist Safety Manager with operations.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications
At least two (2) years of continuous industry safety experience in supervising/managing (safety programs, processes or conducting hazard analyses and developing controls).
Ability to obtain Certified Safety Specialist within 1 year or employment.
Ability to obtain and maintain government security clearance.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Familiarity with the Microsoft Suite
Current favorable National Agency Check with Inquiry (NACI), in accordance with AR 380-67
Valid Driver’s License

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee will work in a temperature-controlled office environment, as well as on construction job sites. Job sites may be outdoors, or indoors. During visits to construction job sites, the individual may be exposed to: extreme cold or hot weather conditions, hazardous noise, fall hazards, heights in excess of 10 feet, confined spaces, excavations, live traffic, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials, unexploded ordinance, and dimly lit areas.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervisory responsibilities will be in the review of currently established practices, with an emphasis of ways to keep team members safe while performing a range of activities.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
