Job Summary:

The Production and Quality Team Lead is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing daily production and quality assurance operations in the Paint department for painted plastic automotive parts. This position assists the Paint Supervisor to ensure all products meet quality standards and production goals. Additionally, the Team Lead may fill in for the Quality Supervisor or Paint Supervisor during absences and step in as a production employee when necessary. This role does not involve direct supervision of staff.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage, lead, and mentor a team of production operators and quality control staff.

Act as a backup for the Quality Supervisor or Paint Supervisor during absences.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and production standards are maintained.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Assists the Paint Supervisor in maintaining production schedules to meet daily targets and customer demands.

Ensures adherence to all quality assurance procedures, including inspections and testing of painted parts.

Fills in as a production employee when required to support operations.

Identifies areas for improvement within production and quality processes, recommending and implementing solutions.

Collaborates with engineering and maintenance teams to resolve equipment or process issues.

Trains staff on quality standards, safety protocols, and operational procedures as needed.

Maintains accurate documentation of production outputs and quality performance metrics.

Performs miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Hands-on experience in production and quality operations.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for documentation and reporting.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably with painted plastic automotive parts.

Hands-on experience in production and quality operations.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking during an 8-hour shift.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.

Frequently required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Occasionally required to walk and talk or hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
